ILOILO City – The city government will be using both the prepositions “in” and “for” for its new tourism tagline “My Heart Beats in Iloilo City.”
The tagline attracted comments and suggestions from well-meaning citizens seeking to improve it.
“We are very happy with the attention our new slogan is getting. It means everyone feels their hearts beating in/for Iloilo city,” Treñas said.
The city mayor earlier said using “in” is not grammatically incorrect.
The city got inspiration from the tagline, “I left my Heart in San Francisco.”
He added that using “for” is also correct.
Treñas also clarified that the earlier release of the city’s new tagline through tarpaulins was just a teaser.
Treñas said it will be probably launched in August in time for his State of the City Address./PN
