ON HER trip with family abroad, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco surprised fans with news that she’s filming a project in South Korea.

The “Magandang Buhay” host revealed in an Instagram post on July 21 that she’s working on an acting gig that seems to be helmed by a Korean production crew.

In her post, the actress-TV host uploaded behind-the-scenes snaps from her first day of filming. In the photos, where she’s joined by some crew members, Cantiveros is spotted wearing a wig.

Known for her self-deprecating humor, the “Pinoy Big Brother” winner, in her caption, shared that she thought the crew might’ve wondered why she’s their talent.

Aside from fans, some celebrities shared their excitement for the Kapamilya star’s upcoming project. In the comments section, her “Pinoy Big Brother” co-host and good friend Bianca Gonzalez called Cantiveros an “International Star,” and told her, “‘Wag mo kami kalimutan, Me (Don’t forget us, Melai)!!!”

In another Instagram post, Cantiveros delighted fans with clips — from the second day of filming — that showed her confidently interacting with the production staff. The language barrier did not hinder the comedian from initiating and engaging in conversations and from cracking jokes with the crew.

While she has yet to spill any information on her latest endeavor, Cantiveros has been using the hashtag, #MaamChief, in her posts and Stories, which most likely could pertain to the project’s working title.

She had hinted at the new project in an earlier post, in which she told her followers that she’s feeling a bit sad about temporarily being separated from her family as she has got something to do.

Her family is still in South Korea while she attends to her work commitment.

Prior to the announcement, Cantiveros and her family — her mother also joined the trip — had netizens in stiches with their conversations as seen in her Instagram Stories. Cantiveros and husband Jason Francisco have two daughters, Mela and Stela. (Dale Calanog © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
