5 bars violate liquor curfew

ILOILO City – Five establishments here violated the 8 a.m. to 12 midnight limit for the sale and public consumption of liquor.

The erring KTV (karaoke television) and restobars are mostly in Mandurriao district, according to Compliance Team head Nestor Canong.

As part of due process, a Notice to Explain will be sent to them within 24 hours.

Canong said the owners and managers of the bars were blaming their personnel.

“Akig ang ila manager kag tag-iya bangud sang paglapas sang ila tinawo. May iban sila nga staff kag personnel nga ginpasugtan ang kilala nila nga makasulod kag makainom ala-una sang kaagahon,” said Canong.

Meanwhile, the Compliance Team head noted that Treñas has already met with the bar owners and managers together with the City Legal Office and Business Permits and Licensing Division on Monday, July 31.

The bar owners and managers expressed their commitment to the order of the city mayor and submitted a new Affidavit of Undertaking.

Among their commitment include training of their bouncers and strictly abiding with the  Executive Order 092 that limits the sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks in the city only until midnight./PN
