Policeman faces probe for ‘threatening’ 4 civilians

ILOILO City – A police officer is under investigation for allegedly threatening four civilians, including a minor, with a gun in Barangay Buntatala, Jaro district around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5.

Police Staff Sergeant Nico Galvesolo, 38, of Block 5-B, Relocation Site, Barangay Buntatala, was allegedly under the influence of liquor.

The complainants were Bryan Joshua Celiz, 19; Joel Zepeda, 20; Kevin Lee Jaboneta, 12; and alias “Jenel”, 16, all residents of the barangay.

According to the initial investigation by Jaro police, Galvesolo was walking home when he chanced upon the four civilians, allegedly brandished his gun and discharged it to the ground.

Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) director Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica, in an interview with Radyo Bandera Iloilo, said the Jaro police will process the appropriate administrative and criminal charges against the officer.

Galvesolo, previously assigned to the ICPO, is currently undergoing schooling./PN
