THE core team of the Safe, Swift and Smart Passage or S-PaSS Travel Management System is declared as the regional winner of the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award.
Receiving the award were members, namely, Engr. Rowen R. Gelonga, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) VI regional director; Mr. Garry T. Balinon, DOST VI Management Information Systems Unit head; and Mr. Ryan Vilmor J. Dumpit, DOST VI Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit head.
S-PaSS is an online travel management system developed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a one-stop online communication and coordination platform for travelers and local government units (LGUs).
Gelonga, as the project leader, led the conceptualization, creation, implementation and monitoring of S-PaSS. Balinon ensured the implementation, development and maintenance of the IT system as the head of system development and administration. Dumpit handled the coordination and capacity building activities with stakeholders as well as customer concerns as the project coordinator while also provided inputs on the S-PaSS user interface and operation.
The Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award is conferred to an individual or group of five members for exceptional and extraordinary contributions resulting from an idea or performance that had nationwide impact on public interest, security and patrimony. It is part of CSC’s 2023 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.
S-PaSS, as the regional winner, advances as one of the semifinalists for the said award. (DOSTVI-KMU)./PN
