“A COUPLE of years ago, there were two coffees, one sunrise, and a ring,” began Lovi Poe’s post on her Instagram account on the evening of Aug. 8.
Lovi shared a reel that began with two espresso cups on a table, overlooking the calming waves kissing the shoreline at sunset. It would later include her hand wearing a square-cut diamond ring.
The actress revealed that the big moment actually happened a couple of years ago, but she and her fiancé kept the news to a close circle of family and friends first.
“We’ve shared and celebrated this moment quietly with our family and closest friends, so we’re now more than happy to share this sweet #lifeupdate with you,” she continued.
Lovi has been in a long-distance relationship with British film producer Monty Blencowe for four years now. Lovi has been busy with her career here in the Philippines, such as her lead role in the series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, while Monty is based in the United States.
Despite the distance, the two have managed to keep their relationship strong. Other than shuttling from one end of the world to another just to be together, they also get creative with spending their milestones apart.
In 2020, Lovi had a virtual birthday salubong with Monty. Although they couldn’t be together physically, they still managed to make it a special moment.
“I’m truly lucky to have someone who supports me and understands my job,” shared Lovi in a previous interview. “The most important thing for me is having a partner who lifts you up and wants you to do well as an individual. We treat each other the same way. We help each other… I’m happy that he wants to see me shine.”
The well-wishes rained down from family, friends, and industry colleagues immediately after Lovi’s revelation.
Ron Poe, Lovi’s brother, was one of those who greeted the couple.
“Congratulations Sis and @montyblencowe,” he said. “See you guys soon.”
Seasons’ co-star Carlo Aquino also sent his well-wishes.
