ILOILO City – The police stations of Roxas City in Capiz and San Jose de Buenavista in Antique were adjudged the best component city and municipal police stations, respectively, in Western Visayas.
The awarding was held during the 122nd Police Service Anniversary celebration at Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo at the Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao district on Monday, Aug. 14.
The celebration honored the outstanding performance of various police units, personnel as well as non-government organizations and stakeholders.
General Benjamin Acorda Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police, and Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, director of the Police Regional Office 6, handed out plaques of recognition.
Roxas City police chief Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Paguia received the award together with Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.
The Roxas City police station was also named first runner-up in the national level.
“Pamatuod ini sang maayo nga performance kag dedikasyon sang aton kapulisan sa pagmentinar sang kalinong kag katawhay sa syudad, madasig nga pagresolbar sang mga krimen, kampanya batuk sa ilegal nga druga kag iban pa nga programa nga nakabulig sa komunidad,” said Dadivas.
Meanwhile, Major Geremy Ian R. Magbanua, officer-in-charge of the San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Police Station, received the award with Mayor Elmer Untaran.
The San Jose police station was among the Top 3 finalists in the national level.
The 122nd Police Service Anniversary was themed “Nagkakaisang Pulisya at Pamayanan tungo sa Mapayapa and Maunlad na Bansa.”/PN
