IPPO’s ‘Birada Semana’ yields P2-M ‘shabu’

ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) seized 306.50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2,084,200 during a weeklong law enforcement operation dubbed “Birada Semana.”

From Aug. 7 to 13, 28 drug suspects were also arrested in 20 operations, IPPO data showed.

Moreover, 74 wanted persons were arrested, of whom 24 were in the top 10 most wanted persons at the regional, provincial, and municipal levels.

In the campaign against loose firearms, 51 firearms and nine explosives were either recovered or surrendered.

Further, three operations against illegal gambling resulted in the arrest of seven individuals.

Also, four individuals were arrested in five executions of search warrants.

Eleven dump truck drivers were apprehended for violating Provincial Ordinance 2017-145, which regulates quarry operations in Iloilo.

“The Birada Semana showcases not only the dedication, hard work, and professionalism of Ilonggo cops but also of our fellow Ilonggos who report illegal activities and suspicious individuals in their locality,” Colonel Ronaldo Palomo, IPPO director, said./PN
