Treñas said the city government has gone a long way because of its employees, thus it is fitting to recognize outstanding employees.
“Even during the pandemic, sige obra sang mga empleyado ta. Tinlo ang mga dalan. We tried so much nga panaugon ang (COVID) cases sa syudad, bira-bira ta sang aton vaccination. We are among those nga nag-excel gid during the pandemic,” he stressed.
The city mayor hopes that the awards will inspire every Ilonggo to help transform the city for the better and achieving the vision to be one of the Top 3 highly-urbanized cities in the country.
Fernandez, one of the awardees, thanked the city mayor for believing in him, as well as his superiors and colleagues for the support and teamwork.
“I am fortunate to be given the opportunity to serve and to be of service to the city and the Ilonggos,” Fernandez expressed.
Also thankful for the two decades of opportunity and privilege to serve the people of the city is awardee Andrew Murray D. Durano.
He shared that fostering genuine commitment to one’s responsibilities and nurturing a sense of camaraderie within the workplace are the key principles employees should uphold.
“When employees are driven solely by the pursuit of recognition and rewards, the recognition and award process can become corrupted, transforming it into a competitive and cutthroat arena. This, in turn, undermines the spirit of teamwork among government employees,” he added./PN
