ILOILO City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in this city will be accepting certificates of candidacy (COCs) for the upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) even during holidays and weekends.
Jonathan Sayno, election assistant 2, said the COC filing is from Aug. 28 (National Heroes Day) to Sep. 2 (Saturday).
“Wala gid sang pag-isol sa mga dates nga ginpaguwa sang Commission on Elections sa diin maga-file ang aton mga aspirants sang ila mga COC,” Sayno said in a radio interview.
Comelec will also observe the “No Noon Break” policy, which applies to all government offices as stipulated in Republic Act (RA) 11032 (Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act), amending RA 9485 (Anti-Red Tape Act).
“No noon break ini, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. And even though holiday ang August 28, bukas ang Comelec sa pagbaton sang mga COCs. Ang Sept. 2, Saturday, bukas man sa last day (of filing),” Sayno further said.
COC filers will be accommodated at Cinemas 5 and 6 on the third floor of Robinsons Place Iloilo.
“Mag-prepare sang COC forms. Ang tatlo na ka panid kuhaon ina sang Comelec. Ang first copy butangan sang documentary stamp worth P30. May ara man documentary stamp worth P15 each, pero himuon mo na duha ka bilog kay ang nahambal worth P30 [documentary stamp] sa first copy,” Sayno reminded aspirants.
He added: “Dason passport size ID, latest within six months nga nagpa-picture ka. Then, ipa-notarize. Siguraduhon nga may mga pirma kag ang tanan nga field na fill-up-an kag kun may erasure butangan lang sang specimen signature sang kandidato. Kun wala sang isabat sa pamangkot, butangan sang Not Applicable.”/PN
