ANOTHER round of pump price hikes is projected this week.

According to a forecast by Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. on Saturday, Aug. 26, fuel price adjustments are expected from Aug. 29 to Sept. 4.

Diesel may see a hike of P0.20 to P0.60 per liter, while gasoline may rise up to P0.40 per liter, said an oil industry source.

If this were to push through, it would mark the eighth consecutive week that diesel prices have increased, while it would be the seventh consecutive week for gasoline.

Diesel prices have already gone up by P13.10 per liter and gasoline by P9.25 per liter since July 11, 2023.

The Department of Energy, meanwhile, said the price adjustments resulted in a year-to-date net increase of P14.50 per liter for gasoline, P8.80 per liter for diesel, and P5.84 per liter for kerosene. Another fuel price hike expected this week. (GMA Integrated News/CNN Philippines)
