ANTIQUE – Antiqueño athlete-medalists during the Palarong Pambansa 2023 and the Western Visayas Regional Athletics Association (WVRAA) Meet will receive cash incentives from the provincial government.
The regional games were held in Aklan from April 26–30, and the national games were held in Marikina City from July 29 to Aug. 5.
“Kita rugya sa Antique magapanagtag man kang incentives sa atun mga atleta, indi lang sa nagdaraug sa Palarong Pambansa kundi amo man sa nagdaraug sa WVRAA,” Gov. Rhodora Cadiao said in a Facebook post.
Palarong Pambansa medalists will be receiving:
For individual sports
* gold – P15,000
* silver – P8,000
* bronze – P5,000
For pair and team sports
* gold – P25,000
* silver – P20,000
* bronze – P15,000
Meanwhile, WVRAA Meet medalists will be receiving:
For individual sports
* gold – P5,000
* silver – P4,000
* bronze – P3,000
For pair and team events
* gold – P15,000
* silver – P10,000
* bronze – P8,000
The aforementioned amounts are based on Provincial Ordinance No. 2022-332, which created the Antique Sports Commission.
The provincial government will ask the Antique Sports Commission to check for an available budget for cash incentives to the winning coaches of Palaro and WVRAA./PN
