ILOILO – Over 15,000 clustered polling precincts will be utilized for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) in Western Visayas.
“For this October 30 elections, there will be 15,622 clustered precincts,” said Atty. Dennis Ausan, Commission on Elections (Comelec) Region 6 director.
These precincts will cater to 6,944,161 registered voters.
As of June 2023, 5,179,738 were registered to vote in the barangay election and 1,764,423 in the SK election, based on the Election Registration Boards (ERBs) hearing results.
But this number could change once Comelec releases the final cleansing results of the voters’ list.
Comelec is also finalizing the electoral board that will oversee the polling precincts.
“”Ang 15,622 na presinto ang babantayan ni AFP [Armed Forces of the Philippines] at saka ni Coast Guard. So multiply mo ‘yan by three, and that will be the number of electoral forces na i-hire ng Comelec,” he added./PN
