ANTIQUE – A magnitude 4.6 earthquake of tectonic origin rocked the province on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at around 9:17 p.m.
Its epicenter was 26 kilometers southwest of Anini-y and had a depth of 44 kilometers, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
The tremor was also felt in other parts of the Visayas in varying intensities.
Intensity IV (moderately strong) was felt in Anini-y, while Belison and San Jose de Buenavista towns experienced an Intensity III.
Valderrama town and Sipalay City in Negros Occidental felt an Intensity I quake.
State seismologists said the tremor is unlikely to lead to aftershocks and property damage./PN
