Cadiao sets guidelines for hog transport

ANTIQUE – As the concurrent chairperson of the African Swine Fever Crisis Management Task Force, Gov. Rhodora Cadiao issued Executive Order No. 200 on Sept. 22, establishing guidelines for the orderly transport of hogs within and out of Antique Province.

Shippers must comply with, present, and carry the following documentary requirements:

For movement within the province:

* The original copy of a barangay certification confirming the ownership of the hogs, indicating the number of heads to be transported.

* The original copy of the Animal Inspection Certificate (AIC), noting the number of heads to be transported. This certificate must be issued by the Municipal Agriculturist or their authorized representative and is valid for one day.

* The original copy of a disinfection clearance for the Livestock/Poultry Transport Carrier, issued at the municipal border by personnel on duty from the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist or at the Provincial Border by the Animal Quarantine Inspector or a member of the African Swine Fever Crisis Management Task Force Quarantine Team.

For movement from Antique to other provinces:

* Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) Shipping Permit.

* Current Livestock Handler/Dealer Registration.

* Valid Transport Carrier Registration.

* Recognition of Active Surveillance for African Swine Fever or the Certificate of Free Status for African Swine Fever, both issued by the Bureau of Animal Industry.

* Veterinary Health Certificate.

To secure the Veterinary Health Certificate, shippers must provide:

* The original copy of a barangay certification on the ownership of the hogs, detailing the number of heads to be transported.

* The original copy of the Animal Inspection Certificate (AIC), specifying the number of heads to be transported. This should be issued by the Municipal Agriculturist or their authorized representative and is valid for one day.

* The original copy of a disinfection clearance for the Livestock/Poultry Transport Carrier, issued at the municipal border by personnel from the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist./PN
