Gala gifts: 5 students chosen as beneficiaries of MassKarade Ball

STARS shine brighter when they illuminate others. A-list personalities gathered for this year’s MassKarade Ball, not just for the grandeur but to share the warmth of light with others.

Five students representing various sectoral groups were chosen as beneficiaries, each receiving a P100,000 college scholarship grant.

The 20-year-old Elena Mae Priza, representing the transport sector, hails from Barangay Banago and is currently a student at STI-West Negros University.

“I am grateful for this opportunity that serves as a stepping stone to secure my future. This scholarship is truly a beacon of hope,” Priza said.

Shiella Mae Rito of Domingo Lacson National High School represents the women’s sector, while John Keith Garcia represents the overseas Filipino workers sector.

In her message, Gargallano thanked Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez for choosing her as one of the beneficiaries.

“Your generous grant will make a huge impact on me and my parents’ lives and also motivate me to help others in need, and I will definitely do so in the future,” Gargallano said.

And representing the youth sector is also a student of Maranatha Christian College, in the person of Karri Cioco.

Cioco thanked the mayor and Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, as well as all the sponsors, vowing that she will “do everything to make possible the vision of making Bacolod a Super City.”

This year, the star-studded ball brought in more than 60 celebrities and politicians, including Senators Cynthia Villar, Lito Lapid and Francis Tolentino.

MassKarade Ball is a fundraising event patronized by the who’s who in both the entertainment and political worlds.

In 2022, benefactors of the first MassKarade Ball have chosen the Operation Smile group, which conducts outreach surgical procedures for children with cleft and palate deformities./PN
