Iloilo City is PH’s most biz-friendly LGU in 2023

ILOILO City – The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) named this southern city as the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU) for 2023.

Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) officer Velma Lao received the award on behalf of Mayor Jerry P. Treñas during PCCI’s 49th Philippine Business Conference on Oct. 26.

The city won the award for showcasing its laudable efforts in adopting and instituting best and innovative practices in good governance in partnership with private sector.

“This recognition is a testament of our collective efforts in making Iloilo a welcoming hub for businesses and entrepreneurs,” Treñas said.

The city won the same award in 2019. It has also won Special Citation award in 2020 and 2022, and recognized as national finalist in 2021.

Treñas earlier stressed that being recognized for the award affirmed the confidence of investors, and a manifestation of a strong public-private partnerships and much improved governance in the city.

PCCI annually recognizes LGUs that have exhibited  outstanding efforts in instituting good governance reforms to promote trade and investments, transparency, accountability, and efficiency in delivering business services to create inclusive and sustainable growth as well as  fast-track local economic development in their areas./PN
