MANILA – Petro Gazz Angels got a timely lift from Ranya Musa as they essayed an easy 25-22, 27-25, 25-14 victory over F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday night at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

The former College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers standout finished with 11 points to be named Player of the Game as the Angels moved up to joint first place in the standings with a 4-0 win-loss slate.

“I cannot believe this is happening. All I wanted was to be able to help and for the team to win as many games as possible,” said Musa in a post-game interview.

Petro Gazz head coach Timmy Sto. Tomas, who made his return to the Angels bench after missing their previous match, praised his wards’ resiliency and teamwork against the Cargo Movers.

“I am very happy for the girls who were able to hold their ground, especially in the second set,” Sto. Tomas said. “We were up midway through but made some lapses. But they were able to catch up and lessen their errors.”

Negrense Jonah Sabete also finished with 11 points for the Angels, while Mary Remy Palma and Grethcel Soltones each made nine points while providing veteran smarts, and Ilongga Aiza Maizo-Pontillas added six markers for the Angels.
