Vlogger sorry for offensive language at Dinagyang countdown

ILOILO City – Vlogger Adam Nerpiol, better known by his screen name “Kalinti” on the TBON platform, has issued an apology for the inappropriate language he used at the recent Dinagyang Festival 2024 100-day countdown event here.

In a video posted on his Facebook page on Oct. 30, Nerpiol reflected on his actions, explaining that his coarse language has long been part of his online persona and is recognized by his followers.

“This image and these words have been part of my branding…It’s my own expression, and it’s how I am most comfortable communicating,” he said in the local Hiligaynon language.

However, in light of the backlash stemming from his remarks, which were made during the family-oriented festival countdown attended by children and adults alike, Nerpiol extended his apologies to the public.

“I want everyone to understand that I am more than the words I was criticized for in Iloilo. My content, aside from comedy, includes a lot of inspirational and motivational material that aims to uplift the Ilonggo community,” said Nerpiol.

Recognizing the mixed reception of his brand of comedy, Nerpiol conceded, “I’ve realized that my style is not for everyone, and I cannot please everybody…For those I’ve offended, particularly those deeply rooted in their beliefs who do not appreciate such language, I sincerely apologize. I respect everyone’s opinions,” he said. (With a report from RMN Iloilo)/PN
