ILOILO – A 31-year-old drug suspect and resident of Barangay Amparo, Pavia town was arrested in a coordinated operation of several police units.
The operation took place around 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 16. Gerald Khent Lagunday yielded 26 sachets of suspected shabu, a 12-gauge break-type short firearm, a homemade 12-gauge long barrel firearm, four bullets, and various drug paraphernalia.
Lagunday admitted to being a drug user and having used drugs on the Tuesday prior to his arrest.
However, he denied owning the confiscated items. He claimed the aluminum foil found was intended for wrapping fish and the tooters, which he had ordered online, were for milk tea use.
In total, approximately 67 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P455,600, were seized.
The operation was carried out by the Pavia police, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Iloilo Maritime Police Station, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit and Special Weapons and Tactics team of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office.
Pavia police chief, Police Major Dadje Delima said Lagunday was as a high-value drug suspect who sourced shabu from Manila for distribution to Iloilo City.
Lagunday, now detained at the Pavia police station, faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
