PRO-6 nets 244 fugitives, seizes P7.4-M ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) had arrested 244 wanted persons and seized P7.4 million worth of shabu in a weeklong operation dubbed “Birada Semana.”

From Nov. 13–19, police stations across the region conducted a total of 248 operations.

Of 244 arrests, 47 belonged to the top 10 wanted persons, while the others were charged with lesser offenses.

On the campaign against illegal drugs, 64 operations have been conducted. A total of 74 drug suspects were arrested, and 1,096.146 grams of shabu were seized.

The latest operation was on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19, wherein a high-value target only identified as alias “Pit-pit,” a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Bingawan was arrested in the town’s Barangay Cubay.

His arrest led to the confiscation of P2.414 million worth of shabu.

On the other hand, the police apprehended 10 persons for possession of unlicensed firearms. Some 143 firearms and 15 explosives were either surrendered or recovered in police operations.

On illegal gambling, 40 operations were conducted, which resulted in the arrest of 141 persons and the confiscation of P22,419 in bet money.

Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director, congratulated all police units for their accomplishments.
