THE Metro Pacific Water (MPW) and Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW) have shown support to the quest to establish Metro Iloilo and Guimaras as preferred investment destinations in Western Visayas.
MPW President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Pangilinan and MPIW Chief Operations Officer Robert Cabiles joined the first Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Investment Forum held at Conrad Hotel in Pasay City on Monday, Nov. 20.
The investment forum was spearheaded by the Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC) and the Iloilo Economic Development Foundation, Inc. (ILED). It aimed to showcase Metro Iloilo and Guimaras as ideal investment destinations for potential investors.
“We will replicate the success of Maynilad (Maynilad Water Services, Inc.) in terms of water supply operation in Iloilo,” said Pangilinan during the forum.
Maynilad is the affiliate and technical partner of MPW for several distribution and bulk water projects.
For its part, MPIW, Iloilo City’s major water distributor, shared with potential investors pioneering initiatives and efforts it has incorporated and continued to build upon into its operations and water infrastructure projects within the metro.
It added that to meet the growing water demand from current market and potential investors, MPIW will be implementing a P6 billion worth of water infrastructure projects for the next 10 years to achieve a sustainable water service operation./PN
