ILOILO City – The suspect in the fatal stabbing of a tricycle driver in Barangay Rima Rizal, City Proper, has surrendered.
Joerald Juanico, 35, of Barangay Zamora Milleza, City Proper, turned himself in to Police Captain Roque Gimeno III, chief of Iloilo City Police Station 1, yesterday.
Juanico sought the assistance of Barangay Kagawad Peter Abadiano of Zamora Milleza for his surrender.
Additionally, Gimeno mentioned that Juanico’s child had noticed blood on his back, believed to be from the victim.
The incident unfolded past 10 p.m. on Nov. 25, when Juanico and the tricycle driver, Romy Galarpe, were involved in a heated argument.
Witnesses reported seeing Juanico wielding a knife during the altercation.
Further investigations are underway to confirm reports that someone helped Juanico reach a hospital for treatment.
However, Gimeno clarified that there are no hospital records in the city indicating that Juanico sought medical attention. (With a report from Aksyon Radyo Iloilo)/PN
