ANTIQUE – A motorcycle driver died while receiving treatment in San Jose de Buenavista after figuring in a road crash.
Justine Udani, 23, of Baranggay Sido, Sibalom, died of head injuries. He collided with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Barangay Cubay Napultan, Sibalom at around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
The SUV driver was identified as Kenneth Reconte, 31, of Barangay Tagudtod North in Antique’s Bugasong town.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Julius Nicolai Lotilla, traffic investigator of Sibalom Municipal Police Station, the SUV was from Barangay Odiong, Sibalom traversing north when Udani suddenly appeared at a road crossing in Barangay Cubay Napultan.
The motorcycle driver’s head thrusted through the SUV’s windshield.
Udani was initially brought to Ramon Maza Sr. Memorial General Hospital, but was transferred to Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital, where he passed around 12:20 a.m. on Nov. 30.
Meanwhile, Reconte was unscathed. His 17-year-old sustained minor injuries from the glass shards of the broken windshield and has received treatment./PN
