ILOILO – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) has recognized local government units (LGUs) with excellent performances in implementing various health programs and services in their respective localities.
The IPHO, headed by Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon, held on Thursday the Provincial Health Summit 2023 and Recognition/Awarding Ceremony of the Best Performing Municipalities and City in the Implementation of Various Health Programs in the Province, dubbed the HEAL Awards.
The HEAL Awards stand for Health Excellence and Leadership Award. This is a fitting branding, as we honor and recognize LGUs, health facilities, Human Resources for Health, and partners because of their excellent performance and leadership in health.
“The HEAL Awards are a due recognition for deserving recipients that have made significant contributions to improving health outcomes, strengthening health systems, advancing health equity, promoting health innovation, or demonstrating health leadership in the Iloilo Province-wide health system,” Quiñon said.
She added that as we move forward to attaining universal health care in Iloilo, they recognize that there is still a lot of healing needed to happen in our health system.
“We are all witnesses of the triumphs of LGUs, health facilities, programs, and health workers as healers of social ills towards achieving a strong health system. It is just fitting that we confer on them the HEAL Awards,” Quiñon added.
