ILOILO – A road accident in Barangay Tupol Central, Cabatuan at around 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, resulted in the death of a 17-year-old Grade 11 student.
The victim, known by the alias “Patrick,” was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Two others, John Lloyd Alitao, 18, and Jude Zamora, 19, sustained minor injuries.
The incident occurred as the trio was returning home from a fiesta, according to Captain Dionisio Estacio, chief of Cabatuan police.
Zamora, who was driving an angkar-angkar, lost control of the vehicle.
After receiving medical treatment, Zamora was detained at the Cabatuan police station. Charges are pending, awaiting the decision of the families of the victims./PN
