ILOILO City – Four members of a family from Barangay Gines, Lambunao, Iloilo were arrested on charges of murder.
Gloria Lozada, 65, and her sons Dino, John Paul and Jose Niño, were apprehended on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at about 7:20 a.m. in Barangay San Francisco, Gen. Trias, Cavite, after a year in hiding.
Dino Lozada was identified as the top wanted individual at the municipal level, with his family members ranking second, third, and fourth in the wanted list.
The arrest warrants, issued by Judge Redentor Esperanza of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo, recommended no bail for their temporary release.
The family is accused of the murder of Jerwin Gallego on June 1, 2022, in Barangay Pandan, Lambunao.
Police Corporal Edran Losarita of the Lambunao police station said the suspects were located and apprehended by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at a relative’s house.
The incident allegedly stemmed from a heated argument leading to a physical altercation with the victim.
The suspects are scheduled to be transferred to the Lambunao police station and presented before the court./PN
