CAPIZ – A 40-year-old caretaker drowned in a fishpond in Sitio Jabucayan, Barangay Rizal, Pontevedra town on Wednesday morning, Dec. 13.
Pontevedra police said the victim identified as Nicolas Mamburam accidentally slipped and fell into the fishpond.
The child, who accompanied his father, rushed back home to inform his mother of the incident, police said.
The Pontevedra Emergency Response Team later retrieved the victim’s body. He was brought to the Bailan District Hospital where he was declared “dead on arrival” by the attending physician./PN
