THE ILONGGO values of pag-amliganay (nurturing), paghigugma (love), and pagtilipon (gathering) were beautifully exemplified during the annual gift-giving activity of the Daniel G. Fajardo Foundation, Inc. (DGFFI) and Panay News, Inc.

The annual gift-giving by Daniel G. Fajardo Foundation, Inc. (DGFFI) and Panay News, Inc. led by Daniel S. Fajardo II, Panay News Chief Operating Officer and Pavia Sangguniang Bayan Member, was held at Robinsons Place Pavia.

This two-day heartwarming event brought smiles to the faces of children from the municipalities of Pavia and Mina in Iloilo province.

On Dec. 1, pupils from 10 child development centers in Pavia (barangays Cabugao Sur, Purok 1, Purok 2, Purok 3, Purok 4, Anilao, Ungka 2, Aganan, Jibao-an, and Mali-ao) received delightful gift packs.

Through a brief program, the children showcased their talents. Their performances captivated the audience and served as a reminder of the immense potential within each child.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, beloved mascots of Mickey Mouse, Snow White, Iron Man, and Super Holiday made special appearances.

The act of pag-ulikid and pasasalamat displayed by DGFFI and Panay News deeply touched the hearts of everyone involved, including parents and teachers who expressed their sincerest gratitude.

Efren Joaquin of Barangay Cabugao Norte expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Panay News, particularly to its Chief Operating Officer and Pavia Sangguniang Bayan Member Daniel S. Fajardo II.

“The people of Pavia are truly grateful for this thanksgiving event held here at Robinsons Place Pavia. This gesture is truly a big help as we celebrate Christmas. This is one way to bring joy to our children, especially to us parents who are here today,” Joaquin said.

Dr. Emma Quidato of Barangay Purok 1 recognized the significance of the event in facilitating social interaction among the children.

“We are thankful to Panay News for giving the children an opportunity to socialize with other kids,” Quidato said.

Jeff Moises Hontoria from Barangay Balabag expressed his gratitude as well: “We are very grateful to Panay News and SB Dan. We’re glad because my niece is one of the beneficiaries of this gift-giving. More blessings to come for Panay News and the family of SB Dan!”

Lucia Sionomio of Barangay Purok 3 commended the initiative, saying, “We are delighted that SB Fajardo did not forget us. This foundation existed even before he became a councilor of Pavia. The parents and daycare centers are truly grateful,” she added.

The following day, the faces of children in the municipality of Mina, Iloilo, were the ones filled with joy. More than 50 children from the child development centers of barangays Singay and Agmanaphao were the beneficiaries of this event.

Aside from gift packs, parlor games with prizes delighted the children.

Bringing the gift-giving activity to these barangays is also a tribute to Panay News founder Daniel “Danny” Gumban Fajardo, who was a native there.

It was an act of giving back and sharing the blessings that Panay News has received for the past 42 years.

Barangay Captain Benjamin Salanio of Singay and Sangguniang Bayan member Jose Salanio of Mina expressed their gratitude for the early holiday gifts.
