ILOILO – A 79-year-old man was found dead in a river in Barangay Balud 1, Zarraga at about 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 17.
Wilfredo Sumagaysay, a resident of Barangay Maquina, Dumangas, Iloilo, was last seen the night before at the town’s dike area.
“May nag-inform sa aton kaina sa station mga 6:30 a.m. nga may nasapwan ang nagapangisda diri nga nasampay nga patay. So nag-proceed kita diri sa area. Amo na naabtan naton diri ang lawas gid mismo,” said Zarraga police chief Captain Raphy Señeres. “According kagina sa apo niya kag bata, kagab-i pa nila ginapangita ang biktima,”
The drowning victim was seen with a scar on his hand and a bruise on his ears, indicating a fall, police added.
