SP to BCPO: Increase visibility in convergence areas

BACOLOD City – Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) are asking the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to increase personnel visibility in areas most frequented by people at night to ensure a safe, secure, and peaceful celebrations of Christmas and New Year.

A resolution passed by the SP specified these areas, which included the Bacolod Baywalk, Bacolod Public Plaza, Bacolod City Government Center grounds, Yoyo Land, and the Negros Occidental provincial capitol lagoon.

Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Brillo, administrative officer of the office of the BCPO director, said the police are now on heightened alert.

He added that they are also implementing the command directive of the Philippine National Police, requiring readiness and preparedness in line with the intensified anti-criminality campaign “Ligtas Paskuhan 2023.”

The BCPO has also deployed its personnel to all the strategic areas and churches in the city to man Bacolod City Police Public Assistance Desks (B-PADs), one of the BCPO’s best practices.

Brillo added that police personnel were deployed in seaports and bus terminals in Bacolod./PN
