ILOILO City – Expect a more exciting Dinagyang ILOmination during next year’s edition of the world-class Dinagyang Festival.
The ILOmination would already become a parade-type street dance competition to allow more spectators to witness their performances, unlike last Dinagyang when they performed in stages, said Joyce Clavecillas, executive director of the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI).
One of the highlights of the festival, the Dinagyang ILOmination is scheduled for Jan. 26.
The seven participating tribes from seven city districts are the following:
* Tribu Kahirup (Arevalo)
* Tribu Ilonggohanon (Proper)
* Tribu Buntag Tala (Jaro)
* Tribu Manduryaw (Mandurriao)
* Tribu Iafa (Molo)
* Tribu Sagasa (La Paz)
* Tribu Sidlangan (Lapuz)
The parade-type street dance competition will start at the Ayala Land’s Atria Park District going to SM City Iloilo and will conclude at the Iloilo Business Park (Megaworld).
Tribu Sagasa from La Paz was declared champion of the first ever edition of the Dinagyang ILOmination. Other winners were Tribu Iafa (first runner-up) and Tribu Manduryaw (second runner-up)./PN
