BACOLOD City – Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag, city director of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) here, has until Dec. 31 in her service.
Madayag, now 60 years old, availed of the optional retirement.
Christian Nagaynay, division chief of the DILG-Western Visayas, will be designated as an officer-in-charge of the post effective Jan. 1, 2024.
The retirable DILG city director said she worked in the agency for 23 years, including 17 years as DILG provincial director in the province of Negros Occidental and five years in this city.
She expressed appreciation for the cooperation of the local government units (LGUs) during her service.
Meanwhile, Madayag encouraged the LGUs to strictly implement the local and national laws that regulate the use of firecrackers instead of a total ban, which she opposes./PN
