BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental decided not to renew the contracts of its 212 workers.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz confirmed yesterday that they have not reemployed 97 job orders, 92 contracts of service, and 23 casual employees this year.
Some have failed the recent mandatory drug tests carried out among all provincial government employees, while others have not performed well, Diaz said.
Diaz added that they are now hiring new employees and assured that there are qualified candidates to fill the vacancies.
The Economic Enterprise Development Department has the highest number of vacancies, the administrator noted, especially as the provincial government wanted the Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary, Negros Residences, and the Negros Occidental Food Terminal to come into full operation this year.
