BACOLOD City – The president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) in Negros Occidental is planning to pursue legal action against individuals allegedly involved in spreading “black propaganda” against him and his group.
In a radio interview on Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, PACE president Engr. Ruben Diamante said they are looking at three angles as to why they are being targeted.
According to Diamante, they currently suspect that one of the individuals may be planning to run as a board member in the upcoming polls, is supporting a candidate that will run against him, or was formerly a member of PACE.
Diamante revealed that he has already filed a blotter complaint with the Cyber Crime Division of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, adding that he will file criminal charges of Cyber Libel and Unjust Vexation against the individuals behind the smear campaign.
Currently, the PACE elections continue, with eight of them, including Diamante, running as board directors.
PACE has a total of 2,227 members throughout the province. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
