Fatal Sibalom crash claims 1, injures 3 others

ANTIQUE – A member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) died and three others were injured in a collision of two motorcycles in Barangay Initan, Sibalom at around 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The 26-year-old June Pacurib was declared “dead on arrival” at Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH).

Assigned to CAFGU’s Igcococ Detachment, the resident of Barangay Igdagmay, Sibalom had a severe head injury.

Meanwhile, the injured individuals were motorcycle driver Gerald Aduana and his passengers Ronald Naquita and Orlando Florentino, residents of Barangay Igcococ, Sibalom. They are currently receiving treatment at ASMGH.

According to Police Staff Sergeant Julius Nicolai Lotilla, traffic investigator of the Sibalom Municipal Police Station, the two motorcycles were traveling in opposite directions before crashing against each other on the curved part of the road.

Lotilla advised motorists to always be cautious to avoid accidents./PN
