BACOLOD City – Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover last week of P8.2 million worth of financial assistance to the 41 barangays across Negros Occidental.
Each barangay will receive P200,000 in funds for the implementation of local projects.
Among the projects lined up by the 41 villages are the construction or improvement of covered courts and concrete bleachers, as well as roads, open canals, pathways, and solar-powered street lights.
The local villages can also use the funds to purchase office equipment to improve services to their respective residents or to rehabilitate daycare centers.
The villages are also allowed to use the funds to purchase medical supplies and equipment for their respective health centers.
Pontevedra town has the most villages that benefited from the financial assistance, with nine barangays. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
