CAPIZ – A total of 4,196 eligible farmers in Jamindan town received cash assistance under the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund – Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA).
Jamindan’s Mayor Mac Valdemar said a total of P20,980,000 was released with each beneficiary receiving P5,000 through their ATM cards.
Valdemar was joined by Vice Mayor Aran Vestidas, Sanguniang Bayan members, and Office of the Municipal Agriculture personnel led by Alberto Valdemar during the distribution on Thursday, Feb. 1.
“Nagapasalamat ako kay ang banwa sang Jamindan may sobra nga supply sang bugas kag pagkaon gani kita naga-export sa iban nga lugar. Kag ini tungod man sa padayun nga paganguma sang aton mahugod nga mga mangunguma,” the mayor added.
RCEF-RFFA aims “to alleviate the financial burden being faced by farmers amid the drop in the price of palay and the rising cost of fertilizers, as well as to provide assistance during times of crop losses or natural disasters.”/PN
