CAPIZ – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Capiz province has announced the availability of withdrawal forms for those who wish to retract their signatures from the People’s Initiative.
Atty. Wil Arceño, Provincial Election Supervisor of Comelec-Capiz, said individuals interested in withdrawing their signatures may personally visit their office to obtain the withdrawal form or download it online.
Once the form, which asks for a person’s name, address, precinct number, and reason for withdrawal, is filled out, it can be submitted to the Comelec officer.
Arceño clarified that the process does not require payment or need to be notarized.
This release of the withdrawal forms by the Comelec came after reports that several individuals expressed uncertainty about what they had previously signed.
It is learned that there were approximately 39,000 signatures gathered in the province of Capiz, all of which originated from the second district./PN
