ILOILO – Ninety-three couples exchanged “I dos” during a mass civil wedding ceremony organized by the Municipal Civil Registry of Barotac Viejo.

Officiated by Mayor Nielo Tupas, the mass wedding was held last week.

The couples were given free cakes and wines as tokens. They were then treated to a luncheon prepared by the local government after the ceremony.

Municipal Civil Registry and Pre-marriage Council head Edelyn Joy O. Jaranilla thanked the barangays that collaborated with them in realizing the event.

According to the municipal government, organizing the ceremony was an effort to help couples who have been living together but are yet to be married.

It was also in line with the celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month, with the theme “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Service.”/PN
