From the original June 14, 2024, the end-of-school-year was set two weeks earlier.

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio issued Department Order No. 003 S. of 2024 on Feb. 19 declaring May 31, 2024 as the new end-of-school-year of the current SY 2023-2024.

The end-of-school-year rites will be on May 29 to 31 2024. However, in the event of exceptional circumstances in schools, they are allowed to conduct rites on June 1 upon consultation with teachers and parents.

With the shorten SY 2023-2024, Escullar ensured that it would not affect the studies of learners.

All schools, he said, are guided with all the plans and activities, especially those stated in the Division Education Development Plan (DEDP) and Schools Improvement Plan (SIP) for schools prepare by schools division offices (SDOs).

May learning materials and modules nga puede ma-provide sa learners just to ensure that all competencies that are required nga makuha nila for this school year ang ma-provide naton sa ila,” Escullar stressed.

But, if problems or hardships arise, the schools through their heads could ask technical help from the SDO to ensure compliance of the DepEd order.

“It’s going to be a team effort diri sa Region 6 agud sini nga we ensure that the quality basic education is provided in each and every champion learners in the region,” added Escullar.
