ILOILO – Police authorities carried out a successful anti-drug operation that resulted in the arrest of a high-value drug suspect and the recovery of suspected shabu valued at P884,000 in Barangay Punong, Passi City.

The 38-year-old “Adam,” a driver from San Enrique town, fell into a buy-bust by the elements of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit with the Passi City Police Station at around 7:05 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Law enforcers seized a total of more or less 130 grams of suspected shabu in 18 plastic sachets.

The suspect is being held by the Passi City police and will face charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, acting regional director of Police Regional Office 6, commended the operating units’ efforts and underlined the police’s unrelenting dedication to stopping the drug problem and protecting the security and welfare of the people in Western Visayas./PN
