ILOILO – Two fishermen were rescued by Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) personnel after their boat capsized off the waters of Barangay Purok III, San Joaquin, Iloilo.
The two fishermen were identified as Domingo Seron, 55, a resident of Barangay Masagud, San Joaquin, and Jeorge Santosi, 54, from Barangay Nasipit in the same town.
Based on the information released by the Coast Guard, the two went on a fishing venture around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, when they encountered strong winds and big waves.
CGSS-San Joaquin received information around 6:35 a.m. about the distressed vessel, approximately two nautical miles away from the shoreline of Barangay Purok III.
The two fishermen were immediately taken to the Rural Health Unit of San Joaquin for proper medical attention and are now in good condition./PN
