MEGAN Young, the lone Miss World winner from the Philippines to date, will return to the international pageant’s stage this year as host.

The American-Filipino actress had hosted the global tilt’s 2014 edition, a year after her coronation in Indonesia.

She was also one of the presenters in the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 editions, giving her a six-year tenure as host.

For the 71st Miss World pageant this year, Young will be back for her seventh stint as presenter for the coronation night.

The ceremonies will be held at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai, India, on March 9. The show will start at 10:30 p.m. (Manila time)

Sharing hosting chores with Young is Indian celebrity Karan Johar, with Shaan, Nehan Kakkar, and, Tony Kakkar performing.

This year’s competition will have 112 participants, with Gwendolyne Fourniol representing the Philippines.

The current edition is being held two years after the most recent competition staged in Puerto Rico, where Karolina Bielawska captured the crown. (Armin P. Adina © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
