ILOILO – A mechanic tragically lost his life after being run over by an elf truck in Barangay Badiang, Anilao, Iloilo at approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13.
The victim was identified as 41-year-old Ruel Burlado, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Aldeguer, Sara, Iloilo.
According to Staff Sergeant Rogelio Amador, an investigator at the Anilao Municipal Police Station, a dropside truck broke down in the barangay, prompting the elf truck to respond and tow it.
The 30-year-old driver, Paul Ivan Cirilo, of Barangay Anoring, Sara, was operating the elf truck when it accidentally backed into the victim.
The victim was caught in between the two vehicles.
Burlado was rushed to Barotac Nuevo Hospital but tragically succumbed to head injuries.
Cirilo was placed in police custody pending further investigation./PN
