CTG member surrenders in Calinog

ILOILO – An alleged member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily laid down arms and surrendered to the police in Calinog town.

Alias “Jack,” a 25-year-old resident of Sitio Magarang, Barangay Cahigon, Calinog, was identified as a member of the Underground Mass Organization under Squad 2, Baloy Platoon, Central Front, Komiteng Rehiyon Panay.

“The former rebel surrendered after years of staying in the mountains,” Limbungan said.

He handed over a homemade pistol (break-type) without ammunition upon surrender on Sunday, March 24.

Following the surrender, “Jack” underwent interviews and documentation reviews for validation to enroll in government’s the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.

Meanwhile, the surrendered firearm is currently in the custody of the 606th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Region 6, after proper logging at the Calinog Municipal Police Station for case disposition.

“We will always be in open arms to accept them while we continuously encourage them to return to the folds of the law,” Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky said./PN
