IPPO collars 68 individuals in week-long ops

ILOILO – In a span of just one week, from March 18 to 23, 2024, a total of 68 individuals were apprehended by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) in various operations targeting illegal activities.

These operations aimed at combating illegal quarrying, gambling, drug trafficking, fishing, firearm possession, and apprehending wanted individuals.

Six arrested persons were involved in illegal quarrying, while 14 were engaged in illegal gambling activities.

Additionally, five individuals were arrested for involvement in illegal drug operations, three for illegal fishing, four for illegal possession of firearms, and 26 wanted individuals were collared by authorities.

Furthermore, authorities seized a total of 17 explosives and two firearms during operations.

The IPPO’s swift and comprehensive actions underscore their commitment to maintaining law and order in the province. Such operations serve as a strong deterrent to those involved in criminal activities while sending a clear message that law enforcement agencies are vigilant and proactive in their efforts to uphold the rule of law./PN
