ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) welcomed the appointment of Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil as the new chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
A member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sambisig” Class of 1991, Marbil replaced his classmate, outgoing PNP chief General Benjamin Acorda Jr.
Marbil, the 30th PNP chief, was promoted to 4-star general during a change of command ceremony led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Camp Crame yesterday.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, said Marbil is a good officer.
“The PRO-6 fully supports the new PNP chief whatever his undertakings would be. We have to support his programs/projects for the betterment of the PNP,” Wanky said.
Police Major General Robert Rodriguez, the chief of the Area Police Command (APC)-Visayas, also congratulated his “mistah,” adding that Marbil can handle the PNP organization.
Rodriguez was also Marbil’s classmate from the PMA “Sambisig” Class of 1991.
“I trust my classmate. He is a good officer and a man with integrity and dedication,” Rodriguez told Panay News./PN
