THE newest showbiz heartthrob, Andres Muhlach, is set to make his television debut as he dives into his first day of taping.

Andres is set to star with his family, mom Charlene Gonzales, dad Aga Muhlach, and twin sister Atasha Muhlach, in TV5’s upcoming sitcom, “Da Pers Family.”

On Instagram, Andres’ mother re-posted MJ Marfori’s TikTok video showing a behind-the-scenes clip of Andres all smiling as he reads his script, and netizens can’t help but gush over the charm of the young actor.

In the comment section of the TikTok video, some online users have pointed out the shared resemblance of Andres to a few South Korean stars, including actor Cha Eun Woo, Na In Woo, and boy group Seventeen member Jeon Wonwoo.

After finishing his studies in Spain, the 22-year-old actor decided to follow in the footsteps of his parents and his twin sister, who joined showbiz shortly before him, and signed his first contract last January.

When asked how much privacy he was willing to give up for his career, Andres said, “I am definitely ready to give up a lot of my private time for work. I just want to work po. So any opportunity, I’ll really take it.”

Andres also marked his first “Eat Bulaga” appearance on Saturday, April 6, where his twin sister is a current host. Some netizens have also been asking for the young actor to join the longest-running noontime show as a regular host.

In February, “It’s Showtime” mainstay host-comedian Vice Ganda asked Andres’ father if his son could join their noontime show as host, “Si Atasha nasa ‘Eat Bulaga.’ I-‘Showtime’ na natin ‘to si Andres. Para tig-isa silang channel, ‘di ba,” he said to Aga.

“Da Pers Family” will also feature Roderick Paulate, Bayani Agbayani and Chad Kinis, among others. The first episode is set to premiere in May. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
