ANTIQUE – Two separate anti-drug operations in this province led to the arrest of six individuals and the confiscation of an estimated P200,000 worth of suspected shabu recently.
On Saturday, April 13, the Patnongon Municipal Police Station (MPS), Antique Police Provincial Office Provincial (APPO)-Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and Antique Provincial Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) carried out a buy-bust operation in Barangay Amparo, Patnongon.
Apprehended were “Johnny,” 39, of Barangay Pojo, Bugasong; “Rigo,” 19, of Barangay Talisay, Bugasong; and siblings “Ben,” 39, and “Danny,” 33, both residents of Barangay La Rioja, Patnongon.
All four were tagged as street-level individuals who were cornered by the authorities at an apartment.
Police Captain Ryan Valenzuela, officer-in-charge of Patnongon MPS, said that, as per police surveillance, the suspects had been staying in the apartment for more than one month before the anti-drug operation was implemented.
Found in the suspects’ possession were more or less 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000, the P1,500 buy-bust money, and non-drug drug paraphernalia items such as foil, plastic scope, and plastic sachets.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Patnongon police.
On Friday, April 12, operating units led by the PDEU-Antique with the Hamtic MPS-Special Drug Enforcement Team and PDEA-Antique conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malandog, Hamtic.
The drug suspects collared were identified as Manuel Jorilla, 36, and Murphy Odie, 25.
Several sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 15 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P102,000 were seized along with the buy-bust money, vials, improvised lighters and tooters, cash believed to be proceeds, a brown coin purse, and rolled aluminum foil.
All apprehended suspects will face charges for violations of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002./PN
